Lemuel Rivera Fuentes

Lemuel Rivera Fuentes, MD, serves as Senior Medical Director for Nephrology at Apellis Pharmaceuticals since November 2025. Prior to this role, Lemuel held the position of Senior Medical Director in Clinical Development at Omeros Corporation and Applied Therapeutics, Inc. from November 2024 to November 2024 and November 2022 to November 2024, respectively. Experience also includes serving as Clinical Research Lead and Supervisor of Clinical Research at Fresenius Medical Care from February 2021 to November 2022 and as Clinical Research Scientist at Renal Research Institute from February 2018 to February 2021. Lemuel completed a Transplant Nephrology Fellowship at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán from March 2014 to February 2018 and trained in Internal Medicine at Centro Médico ABC from March 2010 to February 2014. Lemuel earned a Doctor of Medicine degree from Universidad La Salle, A.C. from 2003 to 2010.
