Rebecca Riley-Vargas

Rebecca Riley-Vargas currently serves as Senior Director, Patent and IP Counsel at Apellis Pharmaceuticals, a position held since July 2023. Prior to this role, Rebecca was a Patent Attorney at Polsinelli Shughart PC from September 2007 to July 2023, having also worked as a Patent Agent and Patent Scientist within the Polsinelli firm’s various iterations from 2005 to 2007. Rebecca holds a Juris Doctor degree from Washington University in St. Louis School of Law (2007), a PhD in Immunology from Washington University in St. Louis (2004), and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (1998).
