Koen Olaerts

Koen Olaerts has over 26 years of work experience in various roles within the technology sector. Starting in 1995, they worked as a Field Engineer and Microsoft Consultant at Siemens Itron Business Services. In 2000, they joined Lear Corporation as a System Engineer. In 2001, they moved to ArcelorMittal Genk, where they served as a System Specialist for Wintel and Network Infrastructure. In 2015, they became the Head of Industrial IT Support at Aperam and later transitioned to the role of Information Technology Site Lead. In 2020, they took over as the Head of the Center of Excellence (CoE) for Industrial Applications at Aperam. Throughout their career, Koen has demonstrated expertise in system engineering, IT support, and management.

Koen Olaerts completed their Bachelor's degree in Electronics from Katholieke Hogeschool Limburg from 1992 to 1995. Koen also obtained an A2 Electronica degree in the field of A2 electronica from Technisch Instituut St-Lodewijk Genk. Additionally, they have a PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner Certification from QRP International.
