Marcia Nejaim has a diverse work experience spanning different industries and roles. Marcia started their career as an Analyst in the Sales & Marketing Division at Petroleo Ipiranga, where they worked from 1995 to 1999. Marcia then joined The Bridgespan Group as an Associate Consultant Intern, focusing on strategy projects for community development organizations. After completing their internship, they worked as a Marketing and Business Manager at CESAR, a technological innovation center, from 2001 to 2005. During this time, they were responsible for marketing and business incubation management. In 2005, they joined Apex-Brasil, where they held various roles including International Relations: Business Director, Investment Officer, Competitiveness Manager, and FDI. In this position, they led sustainability, innovation, and export training projects to increase exports for over 12,000 Brazilian companies. Most recently, they served as the Director of the Department of Trade Promotion, Investments, and Cooperation at the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture from 2019 to 2020. In this role, they led international ministerial missions and successfully opened new markets for over 100 Brazilian products, achieving a record in the ministry's history.

The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad, and to attract foreign investment to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy. Apex-Brasil organizes several initiatives aiming to promote Brazilian exports abroad. The Agency´s efforts comprise trade and prospective missions, business rounds, support for the participation of Brazilian companies in major international trade fairs, arrangement of technical visits of foreign buyers and opinion makers to learn about the Brazilian productive structure, and other select activities designed to strengthen the country’s branding abroad. Apex-Brasil also plays a leading role in attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) to Brazil, by working to identify business opportunities, promoting strategic events and lending support to foreign investors willing to allocate resources in Brazil.
