Apex Science is a boutique scientific and translational strategy advisory business based in Melbourne, Australia.

We provide independent, senior-level scientific expertise to medical research charities, not-for-profit research organisations, and early-stage life sciences companies, including biotechnology, diagnostics, and medtech, at the critical points where funding, investment, and translational decisions are made.

Our services include expert scientific and translational assessments, science-led translational strategy, funding strategy development, and time-limited fractional Chief Scientific Advisor support. Each engagement is delivered personally by our founder, Jasper de Boer, through clearly scoped, fixed-fee arrangements, providing access to deep scientific leadership without the cost or commitment of a full-time executive.

We address a recognised gap between strong scientific discovery and successful translation. Many organisations, particularly charities and early-stage ventures, operate with limited internal strategic capacity at precisely the moments when the quality of their decisions matters most. Apex Science provides the independent scientific insight needed to improve decision quality, reduce translational risk, and strengthen funding readiness.

Our work is grounded in over 20 years of international biomedical and translational research experience, a PhD in Molecular Immunology, and a track record of securing more than $120 million for major research and translational programs.
