Hamid Partovi has had a diverse and extensive work experience. hamid is currently working as a Distinguished Engineer at Apex Semiconductor since January 2021. Before that, they served as the Chief Scientist at Ventana Micro Systems from December 2019 to December 2020. Hamid also worked as a Doctoral Student at Stanford University from January 2014 to August 2020. Prior to that, they held the role of Engineering Vice President at Veloce Technologies from June 2009 to December 2013. hamid also worked at Infineon Technologies/Qimonda as a Senior Principal & Chief Architect from April 2001 to December 2008. Hamid served as the Chief Scientist at LightSand Communications from April 2000 to March 2001 and was a Fellow at Advanced Micro Devices from 1994 to 2000. hamid began their career as a Principal Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation from October 1987 to April 1993.

Hamid Partovi holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, which they pursued from the year 2016 until 2020. Prior to this, they obtained a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) specializing in Electronics from the University of Michigan, studying there from 1981 to 1983. Beginning their academic journey, Hamid completed their Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) with a focus on communication theory at the University of California, Berkeley. This qualification was attained between the years 1979 and 1981.
