Vikas Sawant

Vikas Sawant has extensive work experience in the field of technical architecture and software engineering. Vikas currently serves as the Practice Head - Content and Portals at Apexon since December 2021. Prior to that, they worked at Capgemini for 14 years, where they held the position of Principal Architect and Practice Lead Portal. Vikas also served as a Technical Architect at iGate Patni, Patni Computer Systems Ltd, Onward Technologies Limited, and Tech Mahindra. In addition, they worked as a Project Lead at Blue Star Infotech and as a Technical Lead at Motech Software Private Limited -Reliance Group. Before that, they held positions of Senior Software Engineer at HCC Infotech Ltd and Infokey Computers. Throughout their career, Vikas has been involved in architecting and building various systems, including an intranet portal and an HR survey engine.

Vikas Sawant has a diverse education history. In 1986, they completed their SSC degree at St. Anthony's High School. Following that, from 1986 to 1990, they pursued a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on Mechanical Production Automobile at LTIT (L&T Institute of Technology) in Mumbai. Later, from 1990 to 1993, they attended Amravati University, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Mechanical.

Besides their formal education, Vikas also holds several certifications. In 2000, they became a Sun Certified Programmer through Sun Microsystems. In 2005, they attended the Project Management Institute and obtained a Project Management Professional certification. In 2014, they obtained the TOGAF 9 Certified certification from The Open Group and became a Portal Developer (Liferay 6.1) through Liferay, Inc. In 2016, they received an IBM Certified Application Developer - Cloud Platform V1 certification from IBM. Continuing their professional development, in 2019, they completed the High Impact Presentation course offered by Dale Carnegie Training India and gained a Strategic Thinking certification from LinkedIn. Additionally, in 2020, they obtained the Agile Software Development certification from Coursera and The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing certification from Google. In 2021, they became a Certified SAFe® 5 Architect through Scaled Agile, Inc. Furthermore, in 2023, they earned an Academy Accreditation - Generative AI Fundamentals from Databricks and a Consulting Essentials certification from Talent Development.
