Guy Desilva

Guy DeSilva has a diverse work experience spanning a variety of roles and industries. Guy began their career as an Account Manager at BusinessWeek, where they successfully maintained market share and developed cross-media marketing programs. Guy then moved on to Congressional Quarterly as an Account Manager, where they turned an under-performing territory into a strong revenue-generating one.

After that, DeSilva became a Franchise Owner at 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, taking on responsibilities for personnel, marketing, training, finance, and business development. Guy built a profitable business that was later sold at a profit. Following this venture, they served as Managing Director of The DeSilva Group, providing strategic marketing and sales consulting services to small and medium-sized businesses, as well as acting as the Director of Sales & Marketing for Aquastel, Inc.

DeSilva then joined Gary Player Group as a Media Director, followed by a role as Director of Corporate Marketing at Hanley Wood. At Hanley Wood, they played an integral part in the redesign and launch of a new corporate website, and they served as the content manager for the website, curating and posting industry news, marketing news, research, and blog posts on a daily basis.

Continuing their career in marketing and communications services, DeSilva founded The DeSilva Group once again, this time as its Managing Director. In this role, they provided strategic and tactical marketing and communications services to clients, utilizing skills in content creation/management, digital and social media, marketing strategy, strategic planning, and corporate communications.

Moving forward, DeSilva became a Board Member at the National Organization for Human Services, where they took on a leadership role in guiding the organization's operations and decision-making.

Most recently, DeSilva assumed the position of Director of Operations, Engagement, and Marketing at APHSA, where they are responsible for developing integrated marketing and member communication plans, driving awareness and registrations for national conferences, and implementing member communications strategies to drive dues collections.

Guy DeSilva's education history includes a Diploma in World Politics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
