Hongbo Li

Hongbo Li is a seasoned expert in optical engineering with extensive experience in research and development. Currently serving as Senior Optics R&D Engineer at Automated Precision Inc. since September 2016, Hongbo focuses on the development of optical interferometric metrology sensors. Prior to this role, Hongbo held positions as Senior Optical Engineer and Task Leader at ASML, where responsibilities included leading metrology process improvements for EUV lithography machines, as well as establishing error budgets. Experience as R&D Engineer IV at Weatherford involved the development of fiber optical sensors and addressing reliability issues in optical sensing systems. Additional contributions include work at Aither Engineering on fiber optical sensors and laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy, along with significant research during graduate studies at the University of Arizona, where Hongbo earned a Ph.D. in Optical Sciences and Engineering Mechanics. Educational qualifications also include a Bachelor's and Master's degree from Tsinghua University.
