Rafael Gomes

Rafael Gomes began their work experience in 2008 as a Research Assistant at INESC-ID, where they worked on the StopFire project. Rafael contributed by researching Geographic Information Systems and designing software architecture to support data acquisition and feed it to the fire propagation simulator. Rafael also designed and implemented a Windows Mobile Client application to aid coordination of fire fighting teams. Rafael then worked at Thales Portugal as a Software Engineer from November 2009 to February 2013. Following that, they worked at Altran Portugal as an ICT Consultant during the same time period. In 2013, Rafael joined Webdetails as a Software Developer for a brief period of three months. From 2013 to 2017, they were a Software Engineer at Impossible Labs. Currently, Rafael works as a Senior Software Engineer at Apiax starting from December 2017.

Rafael Gomes completed their education by earning an Integrated Master's degree (MSc) in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico. Rafael attended this institution from 2002 to 2008. In addition to their academic achievements, Rafael also obtained certifications as an Open Water Diver / Diver Level 2 from PADI in July 2011, and as an Oracle Certified Professional, Java SE 6 Programmer from Oracle in April 2011.
