Eleftherios Angelis

Eleftherios Angelis serves as the President of the Greek Statistical Institute since March 2022 and is a Professor in the Department of Informatics at Aristotle University, holding that position since December 2016. As Coordinator of the STAINS (Statistics & Information Systems) Research Group since 2004, Eleftherios focuses on research and education involving statistical models and methods related to Information Systems. Previous roles include Head of the School of Informatics from December 2017 to August 2022 and Deputy Head from September 2013 to December 2017. Eleftherios holds a BSc and a PhD in Mathematics and Statistics from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, where education took place from 1981 to 1993.
