Werner Kruger

Werner Kruger is an experienced data science and technology professional with a robust background in building data-driven solutions across various sectors. Currently serving as Chief Data Officer at LawFi, Inc. since August 2022, Werner is part of the founding team responsible for developing technology frameworks for Legal Fee Financing in Florida. Concurrently, Werner advises on risk and data strategies for the BNPL startup BaadMay in Pakistan. Prior roles include Chief Data Officer at Bloom Group S.A., where Werner contributed to raising series A funding, and VP of Data Science at Klarna, where leadership extended over data science and engineering teams for risk platforms. At Standard Bank Group, Werner established a Data Science team and oversaw analytical services in Global Markets, alongside roles in algorithmic trading and regulatory compliance. Educationally, Werner holds an MSc in Machine Learning from the University of Liverpool and a BSc in Mathematics from the University of Pretoria.
