Andrea Wehrung

Andrea Wehrung has extensive experience in data strategy, governance, and management. Andrea currently serves as the Director of Data Strategy and Governance at Apogee Enterprises, Inc., where they are responsible for leading the implementation of data governance, management, and analytics initiatives. Prior to this role, they worked as the Principal and Owner of Emprise Consulting, where they guided a global client in establishing data governance strategies and implementing data governance programs.

Before joining Apogee Enterprises and Emprise Consulting, Andrea held various leadership positions at General Mills. Andrea created a global team as the Leader of Global Data Governance & Capabilities, where they developed a data governance framework, executed data governance technology strategies, and established the Data Governance Services team. Andrea also served as the Leader of Enterprise Data Solutions, overseeing SAP Master Data domains and leading a Data Governance Transformation initiative. Additionally, Andrea led the Global Employee Experience Organization & Global Service Desk, managing global teams dedicated to enhancing the employee experience.

Andrea's earlier experience includes roles as the Senior Manager of Global Business Solutions, Innovation, Technology & Quality at General Mills, where they implemented new solutions and supported IT applications, and as the Senior Project Manager for a SAP CRM implementation. Andrea also established the Project & Portfolio Management team and the Project Management Center of Excellence while serving as the Senior Manager of IS Project & Portfolio Management.

Andrea began their career as an Information Systems Intern at General Electric Lighting before joining their IMLP program. Throughout their career, Andrea has demonstrated expertise in data governance, project management, process improvement, and technology implementation.

Andrea Wehrung completed their Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management Information Systems from Ohio University between 1992 and 1996. Andrea went on to pursue their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Management from the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business from 2001 to 2003.

In terms of certifications, Andrea obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification in January 2007, although the institution from where they obtained it is not specified. Additionally, they acquired the Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) certification from Dama International in January 2022.
