Keersten Nichols has a diverse work experience. Keersten started their career in 1976 at the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo as a Pony Girl and worked there until 1982. In 1992, they became the Co-Owner and President of Apollo Design Technology, a position they still hold. In 2004, they became Co-Owner of Blue Pony and has been with the company since then. Additionally, in 2014 they became Co-Owner of AVID Labs. In 2016, they took on the role of Church Treasurer at Suburban Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
From 1978 to 1982, Keersten Nichols attended Concordia Lutheran High School.
