Marquess Raj has a diverse work experience in the field of pathology. Marquess started their career in 2012 as an Assistant Medical Officer in the Pathology department of the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai. In this role, they were responsible for FNAC OPD services, histopathology reporting, and supervising blood banking services.

From 2011 to 2013, Marquess worked as a part-time Consultant Pathologist at DR. ZIKRUALLAH KHAN'S HABIB HOSPITAL PRIVATE LIMITED. Here, they reported peripheral smears, supervised QMS-related activities, grossed specimens, and reported cytology surgical histopathology under the guidance of Dr. Anita Sharma.

In 2013, Marquess joined Fortis Healthcare as a Consultant Pathologist and Lab Head. Marquess headed the department of lab medicine, ensured adherence to TAT, and had overall responsibility for lab operations. Marquess also fostered a learning environment in the lab.

Since 2015, Marquess has been associated with Apollo Diagnostics in various roles. Marquess started as a Consultant Pathologist & Lab Head, where they were involved in validation and interpretation of reports, calibration & quality control, and review of QA & NABL records. Later, they took up different positions such as Regional Technical Chief and Zonal Technical Chief, continuing to contribute to the company's success.

Additionally, Marquess Raj has attended a program on Surgical Pathology Update at UT Health San Antonio, focusing on lung, breast, pulmonary, and genitourinary topics.
