Barbara Marcantonio

Barbara Marcantonio is an experienced product designer and design team lead with over a decade of experience. Barbara started their career as a graphic designer at KD Web in 2010 and worked there until 2012 when they moved to Green Man Gaming. At Green Man Gaming, they served as the lead creative and content manager and gained experience in graphic design, brand identity, and creative direction for online and offline marketing campaigns. In 2014, Barbara moved to Manifesto Digital, where they worked as a UX/UI designer responsible for designing digital experiences that drive positive change in partnership with many companies in the charity sector, including Cancer Research UK, Diabetes UK, and The Children's Society.

From 2013 to 2017, Barbara worked as a freelance UX/UI designer at Pixelspa.com before joining Human Made Global in 2017 as a design team lead. In 2020, they joined One Codex as a product designer, where they designed a new check-out process and refreshed various parts of the One Codex web app while building the foundation of a new design system. Barbara also worked on Concentric, a platform developed in collaboration with the designers at Ginkgo Bioworks that enables large-scale community Covid-19 testing. In 2021, Barbara joined Apollo as a senior product designer.

Barbara Marcantonio completed their education in two different institutions. Barbara obtained a degree in Graphic & Multimedia Design from the Faculty of Architecture at Sapienza Universit\u00e0 di Roma, where they studied from 2005 to 2010. In 2014, they attended General Assembly to study User Experience Design, although they did not receive a degree. In addition, they obtained certifications in Technology and Design Ethics from LinkedIn in January 2020 and Leading for Creativity from IDEO U in August 2019.
