Saqib Shamsi

Saqib Shamsi has worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Apollo.io since 2022. Prior to that, they worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 4 years as a Senior Software Engineer and Software Engineer, where they contributed to various projects focused on computer vision, data mining, and machine learning. Saqib also worked briefly as a Machine Learning Engineer at Omdena in 2019. Before joining Whirlpool, they were a Software Engineer and Research Intern at Aspiring Minds and an Intern at Tata Research Development and Design Centre. In 2014, they worked as a Project Trainee at Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited. Throughout their career, they have gained experience in image classification, regression, and enhancement, low resource architectures, Zero-Shot learning, multimodal architectures, prototyping, and developing training and validation pipelines on AWS. Saqib is also experienced in working with various programming languages and has developed code quality assessment via static analysis.

Saqib Shamsi attended Carman Residential and Day School from 1998 to 2010, but did not obtain a degree or study a specific field. From 2011 to 2015, they attended G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology where they earned a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Computer Engineering. In addition to their formal education, they have completed several certified courses in machine learning, algorithmic thinking, computing, and data science through Coursera and other institutions.
