Bo Zhang

VP, Chemistry at Apostle

Bo Zhang has extensive experience in the field of chemistry. Bo began their career in 2006 as a Research Assistant at Peking University, where they worked on growing single-walled carbon nanotubes cross-bar in one batch. In 2008, they collaborated with Samsung, then in 2010 they became a Research Assistant at Suzhou Institute of Nano-tech and Nano-bionics (SINANO), CAS. During this time, they worked with Doctor Qingwen Li on single-walled carbon nanotubes vertical array synthesis. In 2010, they also began working as a Research Assistant at Stanford University. Here, they developed high sensitivity protein and nucleic acid assays based upon metal-enhanced fluorescence and applied the plasmonic platform for various medical applications. Bo also scaled up the fabrication of the materials to favor industrial applications and automated the process. In 2015, they worked as a Summer Associate at McKinsey & Company Greater China, then in 2016 they became Director at Nirmidas Biotech, Inc. Finally, in 2017 they were appointed VP, Chemistry at Apostle, Inc.

Bo Zhang obtained a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Peking University between 2006 and 2010. Bo then went on to pursue a Ph.D. in Chemistry at Stanford University from 2010 to 2015. In 2014, Bo Zhang also obtained certifications in Wilderness First Aid from Stanford Health Care and American CPR Training from American CPR Training.
