Mike O’Brien

Mike O'Brien is currently the CPO and Head of ContractAI at App Orchid. Prior to this, they were the Global Head of IT Procurement at BP from December 2012 to July 2020. In this role, they managed BP's $2B third party IT spend and Vendor Management. Mike also created the Amazon/BP partnership where BP provides up to $1B alternative energy to Amazon. Before BP, O'Brien was the Chief Procurement Officer at Aviva plc from April 2009 to August 2012. At Aviva, they lead the North American Procurement Organization managing third party spend to improve the quality and consistency of vendor performance, optimize costs and bring realized total cost savings to the bottom line, support business objectives and enhance competitiveness of Aviva North America through third party innovation.

Mike O'Brien has a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan. Mike is certified in IT Information Library Foundations Certification (ITIL) from Axelos Limited, SIG - Global Executive Summit Speaker from Sourcing Industry Group, Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA) from Cisco, and Enriched Air Diver from PADI.

Mike O’Brien reports to Vaibhav Nadgauda, CEO. They are on a team with Ravi Bommakanti - Chief Technology Officer, Yuvaraj Mani - Chief Product Officer, and Shyam Chodapunedi - Chief Revenue Officer.
