APP2Speak® is a photo-based Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) app created, designed, and self-funded by Gina Baldwin, M.S., CCC-SLP, a certified Speech-Language Pathologist with more than 40 years of experience helping individuals regain their voice and independence.
Inspired by decades of working with adults living with speech and communication challenges, Gina recognized a gap in the AAC market. Many available tools were overly complex, symbol-heavy, or cost-prohibitive for everyday users. She envisioned a more intuitive, affordable, and personalized solution—one that could help people communicate quickly, clearly, and confidently.
That vision became APP2Speak®: a simple, photo-based communication app that gives users the ability to express themselves at the tap of a photo. The app includes customizable preloaded photo pages, a personal photo library, and a text-to-speech feature for spontaneous conversation. Users can upload their own photos, add personalized text, and record familiar voices—creating a truly individualized communication experience.
Since its launch in 2014, APP2Speak has reached users in over 21 countries, empowering individuals affected by stroke, brain injury, ALS, Parkinson’s disease, cerebral palsy, and other neurological conditions to reconnect with family, caregivers, and their world.
Available in both full and Lite versions, APP2Speak delivers an affordable, user-friendly AAC solution that combines clinical insight with practical design—bridging the gap between speech and independence.
