Chuck Mantooth, FACHE, serves as the President and CEO of Appalachian Regional Healthcare System since April 2012 and previously held the position of President at Watauga Medical Center and Appalachian Regional Medical Associates. Prior roles include President/CEO at Charles A. Cannon Jr. Memorial Hospital from April 2006 to April 2012, Senior Vice President for Corporate Services at Appalachian Regional Healthcare System from June 2004 to April 2006, and Vice President for Outpatient Services and Programs at Watauga Medical Center from June 2001 to April 2004. Early in their career, Chuck Mantooth worked as an Account Executive at McNeary Healthcare Services and held various roles at Watauga Medical Center, including Risk Manager/Financial Analyst and Assistant Vice President/Corporate Compliance Officer. Educationally, Chuck Mantooth earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill between 2004 and 2006 and a Bachelor's Degree in Health Care Administration/Management from Appalachian State University from 1985 to 1990.
