Appalachian Trail Conservancy
John Odell is an experienced environmental professional with a background in forestry and land management. As the owner of Appalachian Land Stewards since June 2010, John administers federal contracts focused on controlling invasive species and restoring native plant communities. In addition, John has served as the Resource Management Coordinator for the Appalachian Trail Conservancy since July 2009, overseeing environmental initiatives along the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. Previous roles include Natural Resources Specialist at Givens Estates, where John was involved in trail construction and invasive species management, and a Wildland Firefighter with the U.S. Forest Service. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Northern Arizona University.
