Phoebe Liu

Phoebe Liu is a highly accomplished data scientist and manager with extensive experience in machine learning and robotics. Currently serving as Staff Data Scientist and Senior Manager at Appen since November 2019, Phoebe Liu has successfully led a large team to develop core machine learning features for recruitment and fraud detection, significantly improving operational efficiency. Previously, Phoebe Liu was a Machine Learning Scientist at Figure Eight, where the delivery of the first ML model was achieved. Earlier experience includes a role as a Robotics Researcher at the Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International, contributing to the understanding of data-driven learning for social robots, and publishing over ten first-author papers in reputable conferences. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Robotics and an MEng from Osaka University, along with a BASc from Simon Fraser University.
