Dave Barrera has a diverse work experience. Dave currently serves as the Director of Operations - Energy Solutions at APPI Energy. In this role, they are responsible for overseeing operations related to energy solutions. Prior to this, Dave worked at Dieter's Close Quarters Defense, Inc. for a significant period. Dave held various positions including Vice President of Operations, Program Manager - Federal Programs, and Lead Instructor. In these roles, they managed training and resiliency programs for public and private customers, delivered presentations to high-ranking officials, and oversaw security training programs for US Government agencies. Dave also worked as a Business Resiliency Consultant at Cooley LLP, where they conducted a comprehensive analysis of the company's operations and identified solutions for improved risk management and operational efficiency. Dave's career began in the United States Air Force, where they served as a Security Forces Officer and led cross-functional teams to secure assets and personnel.
Dave Barrera earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Michigan between 1995 and 1999. Currently, they are pursuing a Master of Science degree in Enterprise Risk Management & Business Continuity from Boston University, which they are expected to complete in 2023. Dave also holds a Graduate Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management & Business Continuity from Boston University.
