Daqing Cai

Darren Cai, PhD, is Managing Partner and Founder of Sherpa Healthcare Partners. Previously, he was Managing Director of Legend Capital, a Chinese early stage and expansion stage venture capital firm. During his tenure at Legend Capital, Dr. Cai focused on investment opportunities in the healthcare sector and led investment in more than 20 companies located in the U.S. and China. He also served as chief financial officer of Beijing Genomics Institute, a genome sequencing company, where he also served on the company board. He earned a PhD from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MBA from Yale University.
