Alain Charest

Senior Consultant, Mexico at Appian Capital Advisory

Alain Charest is Senior Consultant for Appian in Mexico and is based out of Guerrero State. Mexico. His role, besides contributing to the elaboration and execution of the firm's business strategy, is sourcing, identifying, and evaluating mineral projects in Mexico.

Alain has 40 years of experience in mineral exploration. Before and during the completion of his geological engineering studies at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, in 1993, he worked as a geological and geophysical technician for different consulting firms operating in western and northern Canada.

In 1994, Alain joined the Vancouver-based junior company Francisco Gold Corp as an exploration geologist. In the following year Alain discovered the El Sauzal, high-sulfidation, 2M oz gold deposit in southwestern Chihuahua State. Concurrent to the development of El Sauzal, Alain managed the exploration programs of Francisco Gold's subsidiary company in Guatemala, which was responsible for discovering and developing the world-class, >2M oz Au equiv., Marlin gold-silver deposit.

During his 27 years in Mexico, Alain has gathered, reviewed and identified many exploration prospects and provided guidance and supervision on exploration programs for a range of exploration companies.
