Paidamoyo Ewing is a dedicated R&D Engineer with a strong background in biomedical engineering. Currently employed at Applaud Medical, Inc. since January 2022, Paidamoyo previously worked as an R&D Engineer I at Ancera. Through the capstone design project at Union College, five prototypes of a Class II medical device were developed to enhance transsphenoidal pituitary surgery. Paidamoyo's experience includes a clinical engineering internship at Albany Medical Center, where insights into medical device improvements were gained, and earlier roles as a business development intern at Harbour Biomed and a mechanical engineering intern at Stantec, focusing on various engineering solutions and procedures. Educated in biomedical engineering at Union College, Paidamoyo combines technical proficiency with hands-on experience in medical device design and development.

Applaud Medical, Inc. was established to develop and commercialize an innovative new treatment for kidney stones, a condition diagnosed in more than 2 million individuals every year in the U.S. alone. Treating large stones currently requires anesthesia in an operating room . The current least invasive surgical intervention only renders 50% ofpatients stone-free. Applaud’s innovative kidney stone treatment will - for the first time - allow urologists to effectively treat 5-15 millimeter stones with a simple outpatient procedure.
