Diego Marin

Diego Marin has a comprehensive work experience spanning over two decades. Diego started their career as an IT Consultant for the UNDP, where they worked on the FAS Program, specifically the APV project. Diego then moved on to Creditel, where they served as a Programmer, Systems Analyst, and Manual Tester, responsible for internal CRM maintenance and development.

In 2001, Diego joined Trintech and worked as a Programmer, Systems Analyst, and Manual Tester. Diego was involved in projects such as Magyar Takarék Bank and BPC/EDS, where they worked on backend programming and build verification testing.

Diego then joined PayTrue Solutions, where they held various roles, including Test Manager, Test Lead, and Manual and Automation Tester. Diego managed testing teams for clients such as Fidelity and LMazal Enterprises, Visa DET, DebiFone International, and Cooperativa Cash. Diego was responsible for evaluating and acquiring test management and automation tools.

At TCS, Diego served as a Quality Assurance Practice Lead, Test Manager, and Project Leader. Diego managed multiple projects from analysis to rollout and emphasized defect containment and prevention. Diego also led a team of 85 test engineers and mentored junior testers during their time at TCS.

Diego joined Globant as a QA Test Lead and later became a QA Test Manager and QA Test Director. Diego played a crucial role in defining and implementing technical quality across various projects and locations. Diego built a team of 85 test engineers within three months and conducted multiple interviews. Diego also created comprehensive dashboards for daily work visibility.

Currently, Diego works at Applause as a QA Lead Test Engineer, initially responsible for testing different platforms and applications. Diego now leads distributed teams worldwide to ensure testing on multiple platforms and diverse languages under a crowdsourced testing model.

Diego Marin has a diverse education history in the field of software engineering and quality assurance. Diego began their education at Universidad ORT Uruguay in 1994 and completed their Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Analysis in 1999. In 2007, Diego attended Universidad ORT Uruguay again, this time specializing in Software Quality Assurance and obtaining a degree as a Quality Assurance Specialist. In the following year, 2008, they obtained the ISTQB Foundation Level certification in Software Quality Assurance from ISTQB. Additionally, Diego has acquired other certifications to enhance their skills, including becoming a Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) from the Scrum Alliance in 2018 and completing the Rapid Software Testing Applied course from Satisfice, Inc. in 2023.
