Joshua Thompson is an accomplished data scientist and physicist with extensive experience in research and data analysis. Thompson began a career as a Research Assistant at SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory, contributing to the BaBar Collaboration from June 2003 to November 2008. Following this, Thompson served as a Research Associate at Cornell University from November 2008 to November 2014 within the Compact Muon Solenoid collaboration at CERN, focusing on analyzing large datasets for new physics processes. Transitioning to the industry, Thompson worked as a Senior Researcher and Principal Data Scientist at HERE Technologies from January 2015 to March 2017, where various data analysis projects were implemented in the automotive sector. Currently, Thompson holds the position of Lead Data Scientist at Apple, having started as a Sr Data Scientist in May 2020. Thompson holds a PhD in Particle Physics from Stanford University, alongside a BS in Physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
