Vinayak Sharma

Vinayak Sharma is a Data Science Consultant at Duke Energy Corporation since January 2021 and has been serving as a PhD Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte since January 2017, focusing on the development of deterministic and probabilistic forecasting models for energy. Prior experience includes a role at the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) as a Student Employee, where Vinayak studied forecasting and optimization algorithms for Energy Storage applications, and a previous position at EPRI that involved developing machine learning models for forecasting dynamic operating reserves. Vinayak also worked as a Research Assistant at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology on solar power forecasting solutions and as a Network Support Engineer at Nevis Networks. Vinayak holds a PhD in Energy forecasting and multiple degrees in Applied Energy and Electronics & Telecommunications from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Savitribai Phule Pune University.
