Kai Ding is an accomplished engineer with extensive experience in algorithm development, particularly in the fields of autonomous systems and perception engineering. Currently serving as an HID Algorithm Engineer at Apple since May 2021, Kai previously held the position of Senior Algorithm Engineer at Magna International, where work focused on perception and localization algorithms for auto-parking systems utilizing Visual-SLAM frameworks. Prior to that, positions included Algorithm Development Engineer for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) at Continental and a role as Perception Engineer at Lyft, where multi-sensor calibration for autonomous vehicles was a primary focus. Academic qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Navigation, Guidance, and Control Engineering from Beihang University and a Master's and Ph.D. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from UC Irvine, where Kai also contributed as a Graduate Student Researcher and Junior Research Specialist.
