Manuel Sarmiento

Manuel Sarmiento is a Machine Learning Research Engineer at Apple, with a background in Mathematics and Aerospace Engineering from CFIS-UPC, where they graduated in February 2015. They began their professional career as a research assistant at IESE Business School, collaborating on retail operations research, before advancing to data science roles at Datactions and Finletic. Manuel developed deep learning algorithms during their Industrial PhD at Vilynx, focusing on action recognition and brand detection, and has presented their work at ICCV 2019. Recently, they have continued to hone their machine learning skills at Apple.
