Mason Zhang

Mason Zhang is an experienced electrical engineer currently working at Apple since April 2024, focusing on prototyping systems related to analog sensing. Prior to this role, Mason served as a Senior Hardware Engineer at Ayar Labs, where responsibilities included designing electronics for high-bandwidth optical I/O chiplets and managing various projects in board design, firmware/software, and digital chip design. Mason's background also includes roles as an ECE Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at Duke University, where contributions were made to electrical and computer engineering education and neuroimaging research. Previous internships at Tesla and Medtronic allowed Mason to prototype significant technological innovations, including a Powerpack grid synchronization controller and safety features for a cardiac ablation device. Mason holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering/Computer Science from Duke University and completed high school at Wayzata High School.
