Sahil Ahmed is a Wireless Systems Validation Engineer (GNSS) at Apple since September 2025, previously serving as a Navigation Engineer at TruNav LLC from January 2024 to August 2025. Sahil's expertise includes relative navigation, visual navigation, integrity monitoring, fault detection, and uncertainty quantification. During a doctoral research tenure at the Illinois Institute of Technology from December 2017 to August 2025, significant contributions were made in GNSS spoofing detection and safe autonomy for unmanned aerial systems. Experience also includes various instructional roles, such as an instructor and teaching assistant for multiple courses, as well as research roles focused on autonomous control systems and sensor characterization at Argonne National Laboratory. Sahil founded and led Illinois Tech Hyperloop, guiding a team of 50 students in developing a prototype and participating in the SpaceX Hyperloop pod competition. Education includes a PhD in Aerospace Engineering and a Master's in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology.
