Shaobo Guan

Shaobo Guan has extensive experience in machine learning and computational neuroscience. At Apple, Shaobo served as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer and previously as a Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on applied research in computer vision from February 2019 to June 2022. Prior to that, at Insight Data Science, an Artificial Intelligence Fellowship was completed from September 2018 to February 2019, where Shaobo developed the Transparent Latent-space Generative Adversarial Network for advanced image synthesis and editing, earning recognition for a related blog post. Shaobo's academic background includes a PhD and a Master's degree in Systems/Computational Neuroscience from Brown University, where significant research involved processing large datasets and modeling visual processes, alongside a role as a PhD Research Assistant from September 2012 to September 2018. Earlier research work was conducted at the Institute of Neuroscience, Chinese Academy of Sciences, focusing on neurophysiology and computational modeling.
