Vehbi Calayir

Vehbi Calayir has extensive experience in electrical hardware engineering, currently serving as Principal Display Electrical Architect and Senior HW Engineering Manager at Apple from October 2016 to October 2024. In this role, Vehbi is responsible for architecting the electrical hardware for iPad Pro displays, introducing innovative features such as a first-time 120Hz panel refresh and ProMotion technology. Previous roles include Staff Display Electrical Architect and Senior Display Electrical Architect at Apple, and Research Assistant at Carnegie Mellon University, where Vehbi designed advanced neural network architectures using cutting-edge technologies. Additionally, internships at Intel Corporation and TUBITAK Space Technologies Research Institute involved developing simulation models and synthesizing Verilog code for microprocessors. Vehbi holds both a Ph.D. and a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
