Yiming Ding

Yiming Ding is an accomplished optical sensing hardware engineer currently employed at Apple, bringing extensive experience in mechanical engineering and research. Yiming earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University, followed by two advanced degrees, a Master of Science and a Doctor of Philosophy, both from Stanford University, achieving high academic honors. During the tenure at Stanford University from September 2016 to March 2022, Yiming served as a Graduate Research Assistant under Professor Ronald K. Hanson, focusing on laser sensing strategies and optical sensor development, and concurrently worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for courses on high-temperature gases and spectroscopy. Prior research experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Purdue University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where Yiming contributed to studies on optical inspection techniques and advanced materials.
