Yunfei Zheng

Yunfei Zheng has extensive experience in video coding and machine learning, with a strong background in engineering and algorithm development. At Apple, from December 2011 to July 2018, Yunfei held roles as Video Coding and Machine Learning Engineer and Embedded Video Coding and Processing Engineer. Subsequently, at Kuaishou Technology from July 2018 to July 2020, Yunfei served as Director of Video Algorithm, leading the creation of a video/image algorithm and engineering team, successfully hiring over 30 members and delivering numerous high-quality product features. Prior experience includes a role as Senior Standard Engineer at Qualcomm, where participation in H.265/HEVC standardization led to the proposal of multiple adopted coding tools, and as Member of Technical Staff at Technicolor, contributing to a highly ranked joint proposal for HEVC. Yunfei holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia University and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Tsinghua University.
