Zengming Shen

Zengming Shen is a Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer at Apple since July 2023, focusing on Multi-Model Generative AI and Vision Language Models, with expertise in deep learning and related skills. Prior to Apple, Zengming served as a Video Processing Algorithm Engineer and Tech Lead at Zoom, specializing in real-time image matting and 3D avatar generation. Zengming's experience includes a role as a Research Scientist at JD.COM, working on multimodal synthesis for virtual human animation, and as a Senior Data Scientist at CCC Information Services. Zengming began an academic career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where a Ph.D. in Computer Vision and Deep Learning was obtained. Educational qualifications also include a Master's degree in Nuclear Physics, focusing on medical imaging and image reconstruction from the same institution.
