Olav Madland has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and industries. In 1998, they served as a Divisjonsdirektør at Alcatel, where they achieved a revenue of 100 million NOK through outsourced products and acquired notable clients such as Statoil and Storebrand. From 2000 to 2003, they held the position of Director Product, Sales, and Market Management - Corporate Customers at NetCom ASA and NetCom as, spearheading the innovation and successful launch of Trådløs Bedrift and GPRS. Olav then joined Wicom Communications Ltd as a Member of the Board of Directors, contributing to the company's turnaround. In 2002, they became the Markedsdirektør - VP Sales at eScienza, where they played a key role in transforming the company into a sales-focused organization. From 2004 to 2007, they worked as the Director with responsibility for product, sales, and marketing at SEB Kort, overseeing the introduction of private cards as an additional offering for corporate customers. Olav Madland served as the CEO of SEAMLESS AS from 2007 to 2014, leading the company to a successful exit through its acquisition by Grieg Group. Olav then took up the role of Head of ITS, Smart Mobility, and SmartCities at Acando Norge from 2014 to 2017. In 2015, they also served as an Evaluator of research proposals at the Norwegian Research Council. Presently, as the CEO of AppliedAutonomy since September 2017, they continue to make contributions in leading the company. Additionally, starting in April 2022, they are a Board Member at the Eco Moyo Education Centre.

Olav Madland completed their education at various institutions, starting with the University of Bergen (UiB) from 1983 to 1989. During this time, they obtained a Master of Computer Applications (MCA) degree with a specialization in Information Technology.

In 1991, Olav enrolled at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and pursued a degree in Bedriftsøkonom, focusing on Regnskap og finans (Accounting and Finance). Olav successfully completed this program in 1992.

Later in 1999, Olav attended INSEAD, where they participated in management leadership courses specifically designed for Alcatel. Although the duration of this program was brief, it provided him with valuable knowledge and skills to become a better leader.
