Rohit Sharma has a wealth of experience in the engineering and biotechnology industries. Rohit began their career in 2004 as a Design Engineer at Samsung Electronics. In 2007, they joined the Biomedical Microfluidics Lab at the University of Utah as a Research Assistant, where they designed, fabricated and characterized a micro sized DNA diagnostic system. In 2010, they moved to the University of Utah and Blackrock Neurotech as a Senior Engineer, where they drove design, development and manufacturing for bio-medical device product line curing brain-related injuries. In 2012, they became an Associate at the Lassonde Entrepreneur Institute, where they evaluated business opportunities based on real technologies coming from research labs. In 2013, they co-founded the Center for Engineering Innovation and served as Principal Engineer, successfully completing 28 commercial and academic projects in the medical device, life sciences, and electronics communication industries. In 2015, they co-founded Applied Biosensors and served as Cofounder and COO, responsible for managing R&D and business activities, licensing negotiations, cash flow management, grant writing, fundraising, setting up the manufacturing line for the sensor production, supply-chain, and team management. In 2016, they became a Technical Consultant at The Feinstein Institutes, responsible for developing the process design, device design, manufacturing processes, and testing protocols for multi-channel polyimide-based flexible cuff-style neural interfaces. Finally, in 2019, they joined Blackrock Neurotech as a Technical Consultant, responsible for developing the process design, manufacturing processes, and SOPs for auditory neural interfaces.

Rohit Sharma has completed a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) in Mechanical Engineering from Kurukshetra University between 2001 and 2005. Rohit then went on to obtain a Master of Science (M.S.) in Biomedical/Medical Engineering from the University of Utah between 2007 and 2009. In 2012, Rohit Sharma obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Corporate Finance and Strategic Planning from the University of Utah - David Eccles School of Business. In March 2014, they earned a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
