Software Engineering Manager at Applied Intuition

Brandon Draper has worked in a variety of roles since 2012. Brandon began their career as a Human-powered Helicopter Pilot for Team Gamera, setting world records in pursuit of the Sikorsky Prize while at the University of Maryland. Brandon then held internships at Textron Systems and Textron Aviation as a Computer Science Intern and Stress Analysis Intern, respectively. In 2015, they were an Undergraduate Student Researcher for AirEZ Delivery Drone. Afterward, they obtained a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology while working as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Aerospace Controls Lab. Brandon'sthesis topic related to long-range monocular computer vision as applied to quadrotor flight. Most recently, they have been working at Applied Intuition as an Engineering, where they have worked on a variety of projects from vehicle dynamics to object-level sensor algorithms to various types of metrics for evaluating an AV stack.

Brandon Draper obtained their Bachelor of Science in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Maryland in 2016. Brandon then went on to pursue a Master of Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which they completed in 2018. In April of 2018, they also obtained a Remote Pilot Certificate (sUAS) from the Federal Aviation Administration.
