Thuy Tuong Nguyen

Thuy Tuong Nguyen has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and companies.

Starting in 2012, Thuy Tuong Nguyen worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher/Data Scientist at the Image Mining Group, Institut Pasteur Korea. Following this, they joined the University of California, Davis, serving as a Postdoctoral Research Scholar and Development Engineer from March 2014 to September 2015, and from October 2015 to October 2017, respectively.

In 2017, Thuy Tuong Nguyen became a Founding Software Engineer at Bear Flag Robotics, where they were involved in self-driving technologies and were the first engineer/employee of the company. Bear Flag Robotics was subsequently acquired by John Deere in 2021.

After their time at Bear Flag Robotics, Thuy Tuong Nguyen joined DoorDash in November 2018 as a Founding Software Engineer at DoorDash Labs. During their tenure, they developed next-generation robotics for practical business applications and built the version 0 of the autonomy stack for autonomous delivery robots. Thuy Tuong Nguyen later transitioned to the role of Tech Lead Manager and Perception Lead at DoorDash Labs, before eventually becoming the Software Engineer (Computer Vision Lead) in the Data Science & Machine Learning for New Verticals team.

Currently, Thuy Tuong Nguyen is employed at Applied Intuition, starting in 2022, with the specific role and responsibilities yet to be described.

Thuy Tuong Nguyen attended Sungkyunkwan University from 2007 to 2009, where they earned a Master's Degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering. Thuy later pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in the same field of study at Sungkyunkwan University from 2009 to 2012. In addition to their degrees, Thuy also obtained a Certificate in Teaching Assistant Consulting Program from the Center for Educational Effectiveness at the University of California, Davis in March 2016.
