Managing Director - Head Of Chamber Materials & Surface Engineering COE at Applied Materials

Chris Beaudry has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Chris is currently the Managing Director - Head of Chamber Materials & Surface Engineering COE at Applied Materials, a position they have held since December 2022. Prior to this, they served as the Sr. Director - Head of Chamber Materials Center of Excellence and Director - Head of Etch Chamber Materials Engineering at Applied Materials. Chris also worked as the Sr. Manager - Etch Chamber Materials Engineering at the same company.

Before joining Applied Materials, Chris worked at Western Digital as the Sr. Manager - HAMR Wafer Integration. Chris was responsible for the production head integration for Heat Assisted Magnetic Recording (HAMR).

Earlier in their career, Chris was a Principal Member of Technical Staff at Alta Devices. Chris was primarily responsible for Alta's GaAs wafer substrate "Reuse" technology and developed a GaAs wafer reclaim program for cost savings.

Chris gained experience in the renewable energy sector at Solyndra, where they served as the Principal Member of Technical Staff and Group Manager. Chris played a crucial role in the development and expansion of Solyndra's cylindrical CIGS based thin film solar modules.

Chris'searlier roles include Sr. Engineering Process Manager and Member of Technical Staff at Applied Materials, Process Development Engineer at Kobe Precision, and Process Engineer at Komatsu Silicon America.

Chris also served as a Specialist E-4 in the New Jersey National Guard from 1990 to 1996.

Chris Beaudry holds a Ph.D. in Ceramic Science and Engineering from Rutgers University.
