Guannan Chen

Guannan Chen is an accomplished professional in the field of materials science and engineering with extensive experience in process integration and semiconductor technology. Currently serving as a Senior Manager and Senior Member of Technical Staff at Applied Materials since April 2019, Guannan leads a global team focused on integrating silicon photonics and advanced packaging for optical interconnects. Prior to this role, Guannan contributed to innovative optical device development at Applied Materials and OmniVision Technologies, driving advancements in augmented reality and CMOS image sensors. With a Ph.D. and a Master's degree in Materials Science and Engineering from Drexel University, along with a Bachelor's degree from Fudan University, Guannan possesses a strong academic background complemented by significant research experience in nano-electronic devices and hot-electron transfer mechanisms.
