Phil Alden

Phil Alden is a specialist in patent quality and process improvement, IP portfolio management, and patent value assessment. They began their career as a researcher at the Experimental Therapeutics Division of Strong Memorial Hospital Cancer Center from 1979 to 1982. Following this, they held various leadership roles, including Head of Patent Departments at Briggs and Morgan, P.A. and Larkin Hoffman, and worked as a Litigation Manager and Patent Portfolio Manager at Corning Incorporated. Currently, Phil serves as the Senior Director of Corporate Business Development and Applied Ventures at Applied Materials, where they have worked since 2005. Phil's educational background includes an interdepartmental degree in Biophysics from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and a JD in Intellectual Property Law and Antitrust from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, both completed in 1982.
