Applied Microbiology International
Terry Bilverstone, Ph. D., serves as a Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences (Clinical Microbiology) at The Open University since October 2023 and holds a position as Junior Editor for Letters in Applied Microbiology at Applied Microbiology International. Previously, Terry was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham from September 2014 to October 2023, where involvement included a complex genetic engineering project for a pharmaceutical company, as well as serving as Project Manager for the Marie Curie CLOSPORE ITN, dedicated to studying endospore formation in Clostridium species. Terry's academic background includes a PhD in Molecular Microbiology, an MRes in Brewing Science, and a BSc in Microbiology, all obtained from the University of Nottingham.

We are the oldest microbiology society founded in the UK and with more than half of our membership outside the UK, we are truly global, serving microbiologists based in universities, private industry and research institutes around the world.
