Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at Applied Optoelectronics

David Kuo started their work experience as a Legal Assistant at Schroeder Walthall LLP in July 2006. David then joined Applied Optoelectronics, Inc. in August 2007 as an Assistant General Counsel and later became the Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary in August 2013. In their roles, they managed legal and compliance matters, including private placements, securities filing, venture capital, contract preparation and review, corporate law, export licenses, and employment/HR. David also handled stockholder and investor relations, Board of Director relations and counsel, stock option awards, executive compensation, and provided guidance on Board committee charter and governance, ethics, and business conduct compliance matters.

David Kuo completed their education in a sequential manner. David attended Baylor University from 2000 to 2005, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Real Estate and Finance. Following this, from 2005 to 2008, they pursued a Juris Doctor (JD) degree at the South Texas College of Law Houston.

In addition to their formal education, David Kuo has also obtained two graduate certificates from Rice University. In June 2017, they received a Graduate Certificate in Finance & Accounting through Rice University Executive Education. Prior to that, in April 2016, they obtained a Graduate Certificate in Leadership from the same institution.
