Nigel White

Senior Development Scientist at Applied Photophysics

Nigel White has extensive work experience in the field of optics and spectroscopy. Nigel started their career as a Developer in Ultrafast Spectroscopy at the University of Manchester in 1992 and worked there until 1995. In 1996, they joined Applied Photophysics Ltd. as an Optical Design Engineer and held this position until 2006. During this time, they also worked as a Self Employed Optical Design Consultant from 2006 to 2009. In 2009, Nigel became an Optical Engineer at Surrey Satellite Technology Ltd., and later transitioned to become a Senior Development Engineer at PerkinElmer from 2009 to 2012. Finally, they returned to Applied Photophysics Ltd. in 2013 as a Senior Development Scientist, where they currently hold a position.

Nigel White completed their education from 1987 to 1991 at the University of the West of England, where they obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in Scientific Instrumentation. In addition to their degree, Nigel has acquired additional certifications. In February 2010, they completed a course on Advanced Optical Design using ZEMAX from OPTIMA RESEARCH LIMITED. Furthermore, in January 2018, they obtained certification in First Aid at Work from St John Ambulance.
