Joanne has worked in the appraisal field since graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts from Memorial University in 2004. Prior to joining the City of St. John's as Manager of the evaluation, she worked as a paid evaluator for the Altus Group. While at Altus, she completed major consulting assignments in British Columbia and Alberta, as well as Newfoundland and central Labrador. Joanne also worked for a time in Toronto, Ontario analyzing large office towers and complexes. She has gained valuable experience appraising a wide range of commercial properties, including multi-residential properties, residential condominiums, general commercial properties, remote fishing lodges, airport facilities, golf course communities and ski resorts. In her role as Manager of Assessment for the City of St. John's, she provides leadership and manages the operations of the Assessment Division for the City of St. Joanne and her team is responsible for ensuring that City of St. John's property assessments are fair and accurate and serve as the basis for property taxation for the purposes of the operation of the municipality.
